All About Me ::
I have dreams of writing and changing the world. But for today, I’m changing diapers… and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I live in that vortex, like many stay at home moms, of being completely over stimulated while being completely under-stimulated all at the same time. I spend my mornings chugging coffee spiked with Almond Joy coffee creamer going between dance parties and tea parties with my toddler {having girls is so fun!} and singing “If you are happy and your know it” and crawling around with my baby. And my afternoons are spent counting down the minutes till nap time. {You know what I’m talking about it. You are a mom too. We live for nap time. It doesn’t mean we don’t love our kids, it just means we could all use a little space.} But my favorite moment of the day is when the hubs walks in the door and our little family of four is back together again! I love date nights with my man. Cherish girls nights out filled with the kind of laughter that makes your sides ache. And feel renewed by early mornings on the porch. I adore hot Houston summers but am giddy about the “fall” {or maybe just the Starbucks red cups} that’s headed our way. Oh, and I avoid the phone like it’s a bad case of the swine flu.
Hi, my name is Becky… and I am a mom.
Best Thing About Houston ::
Houston is big and busy but our church family, Bayou City Fellowship, has made it small and purposeful. Church has been redefined for us as we’ve connected with the people during Sunday services and weekly community gatherings. We’ve gotten to serve our city through helping single moms, apartment ministries, sex trafficking awareness (see #enditmovement pic below), prison outreach, and local and international orphan ministry. We’ve been so challenged, encouraged and supported as a family. And my girls absolutely LOVE getting to make friends, learn songs and Bible stories, and jump in the bounce houses! The people are authentic, kind, and an absolute blast. Houston feels like home because of the people we do life with.

Children of Mine ::
Karis – Just turned 3. There is no lack of personality in this one y’all. She is my intense one. Whatever she is – she is it to the max…happy, sad, serious, mad. She’s my feeler. She is tenacious and strong willed. And I love her. She spends most of her days on our dance floor {a.k.a. our entryway} twirling to a variety of Pandora stations. She is the girliest girl I’ve ever known. She often has on 2 headbands , lipstick, and refuses to wear shorts because, “I’m not a boy Mommy!!!!” She was my first miracle, the baby I didn’t know I’d be able to have. I daily get the air knocked out of me by the grace that is her life. Well…when I don’t want to cry because we are in the middle of potty training! {I may not survive this.}
Moriah – 8 months. This girl is crazy happy. Like she wound up in the hospital a few weeks ago because both myself and our doctor didn’t realize just how sick she’d gotten because she didn’t stop smiling. She just reached that age where I feel like I’m finding my sanity just as she’s discovering the world. Rolling all over, jabbering up a storm, and starting to army crawl. I love this season where every month gets better and better as her personality and abilities grow daily! She also happens to be our famous baby– she was the 10,000th baby born at Woman’s Hospital this past year {which earned her a billboard at San Felipe & 610 for a few months with her pic on it}. She looks just like her Daddy {thankfully, the girl version of him turned out cute}. I wasn’t sure how I could love another kid as much as the first. But it happened. Some how you just do.
