It’s that time of year again! As we head into the summer and work so hard to keep the kids busy and engaged, let’s start marking fun Houston Vacation Bible School (VBS) options on our calendars!
VBS is a program hosted by many local churches, giving children an opportunity to learn about faith and religion, make new friends, engage in a variety of activities, arts and crafts, and most importantly, have a great time!
Most VBS programs are free or low-cost and provide a few hours of fun for 4-5 days of the week. Typically, children from kindergarten through 5th grade can attend, but some churches offer participation to older or younger kids as well. Some churches even offer afternoon camps to follow Vacation Bible School. The programs are open to the community, so all are welcome to join in!
Most Houston Vacation Bible School programs accept children who have completed Kindergarten through 5th grade, but be sure to check the list below, browse websites, and reach out to each church to find out if your child can join in on the fun!
Registration for Houston Vacation Bible School programs fills up quickly, but many churches offer a waitlist. We hope this guide steers you into a great summer of exciting Vacation Bible School experiences!

I am so sorry you feel that way!! It definitely wasn’t intentional at all if you feel there is an underrepresentation of Catholic VBS programs. Please feel free to comment with any you feel I may have missed.
I’m on the west side, and I know that St John Vianney (Memorial and Eldridge) has one. All three Katy parishes (St. Bartholomew, St. Faustina and Epiphany of the Lord) have them, and St. Laurence in Sugar Land has one too. Just about every parish has one though, so hopefully anyone who wants can find one near them!
