I’m a Christian blessed to serve in the roles of wife, mommy, daughter, and sister.  A scorpio, and a carb addict who would be more than content eating chips and salsa 365 days a year.  More than happily married for almost seven years now, the husband will tell you I’m certainly not a morning person. The only exceptions to that might be Christmas morning…or if I’m leaving on a jet plane for a much needed vacation. I adore the smell of Pampers and sunscreen, and a good manicure and pedicure is my love language.  I blog over at Pineapples and Pickles about anything and everything, but mostly about being a mommy.  Becoming a mom is absolutely, hands-down, the best thing that’s ever happened to me, next to marrying my husband who gave me my children.

Well, it’s certainly not the searingly hot summers – especially when you are 33 weeks pregnant! I do not skip meals, and growing up in a smaller east Texas town where my options were limited to a couple of Mexican food restaurants, Golden Corral, or the BBQ joint, I will have to say that the wide variety of food is one of my favorite things about Houston.  A couple of my favorite places to chow down around town are The Pass & Provisions and Truluck’s.  I love some stone crab.  I’m a firm believer that a rainy day at the beach is better than a sunny day at the office, so it’s no surprise that I love how close Houston is to the bay and to a beach too. After all, the beach is good for my soul.

Preston is my little Spanglish-speaking, train obsessed, two and a half year old.  Despite the doctors telling me that there was a great chance he wouldn’t survive after birth, he’s very much alive and full of energy!  He was diagnosed in utero with aortico-left ventricular tunnel, a very rare and serious congenital heart condition, that was repaired during open heart surgery right here in the Texas Medical Center when he was two days old. I feel extremely blessed to be his mommy. He’s taught me so much about life, and he’s only two.  You can read more about Preston’s story.

Miss Hadley, due to arrive next month, has been affectionately nicknamed ‘Cupcake’ due to the abundant amount of cupcakes I’ve craved this pregnancy.  As long as she stays put, we’ll share the same birthday month.  {My birthday is the 31st – Halloween baby right here!}.  October is my most favorite month of the year, and I would love nothing more than to celebrate both of our birthdays during October.  After having a dream as a teenage girl about having a house full of boys, I was already preparing myself to be a boy mom.  I never thought I would have a daughter.  But we’re over the top about having one of each sex…although the husband is already worried about how quickly and easily Miss Hadley’s closet filled up.  With that being said, I’m off to water our money tree now.  Thanks for reading along!

I love Instagram and have been known to “overgram”, and I’m also a Pinterest junkie.

Tiffanie, originally from East Texas, has called Houston home for over 10 years now. She and her husband met during undergraduate studies at Stephen F. Austin State University. They have one son, Preston {Jan 2011}, who was born with a very rare congenital heart condition and underwent a very successful open heart surgery at Houston's own Texas Children's Hospital when he was just two days old. In October 2013, Tiffanie welcomed a daughter, Hadley, into this world. She adores seeing life and this great city through the eyes of her children. She is a practicing physician assistant, passionate about Endocrinology and diabetes. Committed to connecting moms and families to all the fabulousness of this great city, Tiffanie started serving as our Sponsorship Coordinator in January 2014. Her days are now filled to the brim with taking care of her family, her patients, fielding sales calls, and scheduling sponsored posts. Her favorite pasttimes include drinking a full-bodied glass of red, retail therapy, a nice long run, and being near a beach - water soothes her.

  1. P is so stinking cute! Hands down–just cute! Prayers still going that sweet H stays put and all goes well until October gets here. Momma needs to share that bday month with her girl!

  2. So glad that the internet brought us together – ha ha! I just know that I’d love you in real life. You have great taste in vacation spots, girls’ names (and clothes) and much, much more. I still remember reading your very early blog posts about P (and being so nervous / anxious for you, even though you were “just a blog friend”) – it is amazing to see Preston now. Can’t wait to see Hadley! Glad you’re now part of CMBN, too!

  3. You are just precious — loved reading more about you and that sweet growing fam of yours!! And how awesome that Preston speaks Spanglish — that made me laugh!! He’s so, so cute!
