Back-to-School Gifts for Your Child’s Brand New Teacher

As if back-to-school season isn’t stressful enough, the Pinterest moms have decided to complicate it that much more. Someone out in the interwebs with more free time than you and me created adorable back-to-school gifts, and now they are a thing. And while not necessary, they’re a thing you can do to make a great first impression on your child’s new teacher.

Think homemade cookies, a Starbucks gift card, a bottle of lotion, a coffee mug filled with candy. Jazz it up with a cute note, and you are done. If you are feeling extra generous, spring for a mani/pedi gift certificate, which is always a huge hit with teachers.

To all of you overachieving moms out there (yes…you!) don’t go all out on the back-to-school gift. Start small. If you knock it out of the park for back to school, you’ll have to outdo yourself for Christmas, birthday, and Teacher Appreciation Week. And really, who has time for that?

Here is a simple gift for your child’s teachers that is easy to put together. Even my non-crafty mom friends can handle this one. It should take you less than an hour to complete, and if you have an older child, rope them in to help you out.

Step One – print this adorable printable (or make your own, if that’s your thing)

Step Two – make or buy your favorite cookies

Step Three – cut the printable out and glue it onto a box, bag, or tin

Step Four – place cookies into the container

  1. I brought mine cookies on meet the teacher night but they were in a ziplock with a handwritten note. Ha! One of these days I will get it all together!
