Preparing Student Athletes for a Fun and Healthy Fall Season

Houston Moms is truly grateful for our partnership with Next Level Urgent Care and the knowledge and insights its providers equip our community with!

September is in full swing, and that means fall sports are back! Friday night lights, Homecoming, exciting volleyball matches, cross country meets…we all love cheering on our favorite student athletes as they compete. But in order for us as moms and our kids to enjoy this season to the fullest, we must make sure they are healthy. This includes preventative care as well as urgent care for illness and injury. That’s where Next Level Urgent Care comes in.

Sports Physicals

This is for their safety and to catch any possible issues that could affect their health or athletic performance. For the entire month of September, Next Level Urgent Care is offering basic UIL physicals for just $10! All Next Level locations are open from 9am-9pm, 7 days a week and no appointment is needed to see their providers.

Sports Injuries

As fun and exciting as fall sports are to both participate in and cheer for, injuries unfortunately can and do happen. When an athlete is injured on the field or while training, it is important that they be seen by a medical provider as soon as possible to assess the injury and receive proper treatment. Next Level Urgent Care offers treatment for injuries that need immediate attention but are not life-threatening, such as sprains, strains, fractures, and lacerations. They also do X-rays and are full equipped to diagnose and treat broken bones. Of course, everyone hopes for an injury-free season, but having a plan for diagnosis and treatment should an injury occurs gives parents of athletes a lot of peace of mind.

Flu Shots

One of the best ways to do this is to ensure all athletes receive a flu shot. Flu shots are now available at all Next Level Urgent Care locations- again, no appointment is necessary, so drop in before or after practice and get the whole family their flu shots!

This is such a fun and exciting time of year with student athletes all across our city competing in multiple sports. Next Level Urgent Care is proud to partner with parents of athletes to keep them as healthy as possible, and when needed, to recovery from injury and get back on the field!
