Buckle up, mamas. December is here. Along with all the excitement of the holiday season, this month also includes a long school break for the kids, which means we all have to find things to do with them for several weeks. On my list this year is of course baking Christmas cookies, wrapping presents, and maybe a craft or two like making salt dough ornaments. But I know we’ll also want to get out of the house. Thankfully, there is no shortage of holiday events and activities in our great city to keep families busy and happy in December. One great event I know my family will be making a priority is visiting the Stearman Santa on December 17 at Lone Star Flight Museum.
HO HO HO From the Hangars
Visiting Santa is one of our family’s favorite holiday traditions. And while we usually meet up with the big guy at the mall, this year we’re doing something a little different- and more fun!
Santa is giving his reindeer a break before the big night, and borrowing Lone Star Flight Museum’s PT-17 Stearman for a Houston visit! Our family can’t wait to see St. Nick taxi on Lone Star Flight Museum’s ramp, followed by photos, crafts, and more!
Stearman Santa is included in your general admission and FREE for museum members. The event begins at 11 am, when Santa will arrive in the PT-17 Stearman. Since Houston’s weather in December is unpredictable at best, Santa has a backup plan in case of undesirable flying conditions. If needed, he will make his grand entrance on Lone Star Flight Museum’s Heritage Hangar overlook.
Once he arrives, Santa will visit with families immediately (a perfect opportunity for those precious Santa photos with your little ones). The event will continue until 12:30 with a storytime with Mrs. Claus and some fun holiday crafts. This whole event sounds like so much fun and my kids can’t wait!
Family Fun All Month Long
