Houston Moms on the Move with Julia Morales

Houston Moms on the Move is a video/podcast series by Houston Moms, celebrating the stories of extraordinary Houston moms who inspire, encourage, and challenge us. Each episode features a high-profile mom from the community who balances the demands of work, family, and motherhood with grace and determination.

Julia Morales has spent more than a decade in front of the camera as one of the most recognizable voices in Houston sports, but behind the broadcasts is a woman who has carefully built a life rooted in purpose, family and giving back. In this episode of MoM, Julia sits down with Meagan to talk about her 13 seasons with the Houston Astros, the history-making moment she shared with fellow broadcaster Jenny Cavnar, and what it means to be visible in spaces where women are still fighting for equal footing.

Julia opens up about motherhood, marriage and raising her daughter while working nights, weekends and long seasons that don’t always slow down for family life. She also reflects on launching Shop Baseball, Y’all and writing her first children’s book even during her busiest years.

This conversation is a reminder that success doesn’t have to fit into a single lane. Julia’s story is about showing up fully — for your work, your family and your community — and trusting that there’s room to grow, evolve and make history along the way.

Meagan Clanahan
Meagan is a Dallas native who has lived in the Katy area for almost two decades. She kicked a soccer ball all the way to Louisiana to attend college at her family’s alma mater of LSU, where she promptly fell in love with a Texas Aggie in Baton Rouge for an internship. After swimming back to Texas following Hurricane Katrina, Matt and Meagan fell in love with the Houston area and now couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Following several years of infertility, their miracle twins Ryan and Quinn were born in June of 2010. She believes there is nothing better than a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio, a large Sonic Diet Coke, sushi take-out, Girls Nights Out, and a mindless book to curl up with. Besides playing chauffeur and catering to the whims of her children, Meagan also is the Co-Owner of Houston Moms. You can keep up with Meagan on Instagram, @meaghtx!
