Houston VBS Guide {2017}

It’s that time again! Summer is almost here, and if you’re anything like me, you’re actively trying to fill your kid’s summer with just enough activities to keep them on their toes – but not too many that summer ends up chaotic and overly full. Hopefully, you’ve checked out our 2017 Ultimate Guide to Summer Camps and signed your kiddos up for a few different options already, but if you’re still in need of a week or two of activities, then be sure to look into VBS as well!

And in case you are wondering what VBS is … VBS {Vacation Bible School} is a program many local churches offer for kids to learn about religion, sing songs, play games, do crafts, meet other kids, and just have fun. Most of them are 4-5 days long, for just a few hours each day, and many are either free or very low cost. VBS is typically for kids kindergarten through 5th grade, but some churches include preschool age kids and/or mentoring opportunities for preteens and teens as well. You do not need to be a member of the church to sign your child up for VBS, but you do need to register ahead of time. So we hope this guide can be a great jumping off point for you!

  7. Chinese Baptist Church in the Memorial area will have VBS for children 4 years old (by 7/11/2016) – 8th grade (just finished) from July 11-15 from 9:30 am to 1:45 pm every day. The cost is free and children just need to bring their lunch and wear tennis shoes.
