Summer Camp Designed for Confidence and Independence

When Houston families start planning summer, they’re not just looking for somewhere to drop kids off, they’re looking for something that actually matters. For more than 30 years, Kidventure Camps has been that program: a Houston-based summer camp built around purposeful growth, exceptional staff, and experiences designed to shape confident, independent kids.

Founded in 1994, Kidventure has grown into a trusted institution for Houston families, serving thousands of children each year across multiple locations throughout the city. But longevity isn’t the differentiator—intentionality is.

A Camp Experience Designed for Every Age

Younger campers can join the Discoverers program (ages 3–5), where activities focus on creativity, movement, and building confidence through age-appropriate play. Think sensory art, music and movement, story time, and water play. All these activities are designed to spark curiosity while helping little campers grow socially and emotionally.

Elementary-aged campers can jump into the Explorers program, which encourages kids to try new things, build friendships, and develop independence. Days are packed with hands-on fun like creative projects, outdoor games, STEAM activities, and team challenges that keep kids moving and engaged.

For older campers entering grades 6–9, Kidventure offers the LEADS program, where teens participate in leadership training, adventure challenges, and service projects that help build confidence and responsibility. These campers also enjoy activities like rock climbing, archery tag, team building, and weekly field trips.

What a Day at Camp Looks Like

Campers begin with a morning welcome before diving into rotating adventure blocks that may include outdoor exploration, arts, sports, and team-building games. Lunch and rest time offer a chance to recharge before afternoon activities and a closing ceremony to wrap up the day.

Kidventure’s curriculum is built around four core principles: Creativity, Exploration, Physical Activity, and Reflection. Each activity is designed to encourage personal growth while still feeling like pure summer fun.

Built for Houston Families

Camp staff members undergo background checks and training, and counselors are certified in CPR and First Aid. Camps maintain low camper-to-staff ratios—typically no more than 8:1—so children receive personal attention and support throughout the day.

Sessions typically run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with optional extended care available until early evening. Weekly sessions allow families to choose the schedule that works best for them, whether they need one week of camp or a full summer of adventures.

A Houston Summer Tradition

The program aims to build character, encourage friendships, and help kids discover new passions—all while having plenty of fun along the way. From slime science and scavenger hunts to water days and talent shows, every week brings new activities and new opportunities for kids to shine.

For Houston families looking for a camp that combines adventure, creativity, and community, Kidventure continues to be a summer favorite where kids can unplug, explore, and come home each day with stories to tell.

Kidventure exists to craft camp experiences that shape confident, independent, and resilient young people. Through purposeful design, exceptional leadership, and a culture of integrity, Kidventure transforms childhood moments into lifelong growth.
