It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here! Your favorite Nordstrom-obsessed HMB contributors are back for another year of sharing our top picks of the annual Nordstrom Anniversary Sale which is open to the public starting today!!! It’s a dirty job, but someone’s gotta do it. We have scoured the site, browsed the blogs, and even made a purchase or two {all in the name of research, of course} and feel confident telling you the best items to stock up on.
If you aren’t already familiar, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale happens every July and offers deep discounts on mostly fall and winter items. There are still lots of sales on multi-seasonal items including accessories, bags, beauty, kids, men, and home. For the purpose of this post though, we are focusing on mom-style.
Chelsea’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks
- Lush Raw Edge Slit Tee :: Talk about basic wardrobe staple at a great price! I love my solid short sleeve tees year round in Houston. Great for adding a lightweight jack or long cardigan, scarf or just dressing up with fun jewelry. This is my year-round momiform! What a great opportunity to stock up on this tee that has a great material and drape…it’s just a touch nicer than a plain ‘ole cotton tee.
- BP. Pocket Tee :: Give me all the stripes! Every year BP. has a classic long sleeve stripe tee {that usually sells out}, and this year I love the grey version pocket tee! If you want a more dressed up version of an easy-to-wear striped tee, check out this Caslon Stripe Bell Sleeve Tee.
- BP. Lightweight Rib Stitch Cardigan :: Living in Houston and working in an office, long cardigans are a wardrobe staple! I pretty much always have one with me for cooler indoor temps. Long cardigans are cozy, but look polished, and who doesn’t love something that covers their rear…just me?
- Zella Autumn High Waist Moto Ankle Leggings :: I think every mom needs a high waisted legging in their life, ha! Zella has some great basic high waisted leggings and crops on sale too, but these Moto Ankle version is a fun and sexy way to sass it up!
- Quay Australia “Needing Fame” 65mm Aviator Sunglasses in Pink/Silver :: These sunnies definitely aren’t a necessity, but I love this oversized aviator and great sale price! If you need a little sunnie refresh without breaking the bank there are some great styles included in the sale this year!
- Two by Vince Camuto Off the Shoulder Plaid Blouse :: This top is a bit of a splurge, but let me tell you why I love it so! It fits my two check boxes when looking for the perfect fall/winter top: cozy and cute! I love the longer fit of this top, but great off the shoulder look which can easily be dressed up or down.
- Nordstrom Moonlight Short Pajamas :: What a great price for a quality pajama set if you need a little refresh in that department! These are so cozy and also come in a long-sleeve/pants version and plus size! I love giving PJ’s for holidays gifts too so you could even stock up now.
- Vince Camuto Prasata Bootie :: Living in Houston, there isn’t a huge need for an extra warm pair of boots. We can practically wear sandals year round so I love these perforated booties with a low stack heel. GREAT everyday bootie that is comfortable, but a step up from tennis shoes. Which speaking of, we are all crossing our fingers and toes these Pink Nikes get restocked!
- Kendra Scott Filigree pieces :: I just love these Kendra Scott pieces that are included in the sale! The filigree is so special, yet can be worn everyday with anything! And with the $35.90 price point, these necklaces, earrings or bracelets would make excellent gifts this holiday season!
- BP. Plaid Woolen Baseball Cap :: Finally, to top off your fall “momiform” is the cutest baseball cap for those days when washing your hair just isn’t in the cards! This plaid print just screams HELLO FALL!
Meagan’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks
- Frye Melissa Whipstich Leather Hobo :: Okay. So hang with me on this one. I KNOW this purse is a total splurge. But I truly only buy one nice purse a year and it’s always at the #NSale. I waited to pull the trigger on the Frye bag last year and it sold out before I could snag it. So this year, I jumped all over it. And good news – it’s still available and GORGEOUS in a cognac color {as well as an “ice” color if brown isn’t your thing.}
- Hooded Cardigan :: This is the year of the cardigan at Nordstrom, and for good reason. These work from office to home and can be dressed up or down. I was partial to this one because #hoodie but there are at least a dozen other great ones.
- Barefoot Dreams “Blardigan” :: I need another blardigan {blanket meets cardigan} like a hole in the head. So, I actually somehow resisted buying this year’s version BUT if you don’t have one, go treat yo’ self. Seriously. And it has a hood. #sold. If you don’t need one, at $75, it may be a perfect gift item for someone special in your life.
- High-waisted Leggings :: I always buy a new pair of leggings each summer because it’s a definite fall staple. This year I’m giving these Yummie ones a try after hearing rave reviews. Let’s be honest :: after babies, anything high-waisted is a total win, am I right?
- Free People Turtleneck :: So I was really kind of torn on this one until I saw it in real life. Y’all, it’s so cozy and the adorable split-back keeps it from being your typical stuffy turtleneck. As a note, Free People usually runs generous so you may want to size down for a more fitted look.
- Vince Camuto Peep Toe Bootie :: Last year my brown peep toe bootie was one of my favorite items I purchased. I did NOT consider myself a “bootie girl” until I slipped those on, but my goodness, they go with everything. Jeans, dresses, even shorts. With Houston weather being warm for so many months, this literally can be your year-round shoe. I personally chose black this year and I love the more western-style of this one. But search “bootie” and you’ll find several other options as well!
- Tie-front Pullover :: I did not love a lot of the tops in this year’s sale {too much billow, poofiness for my tastes but if that’s your thing, you’re set!}. However, this was an exception. I love the little tie-front that’s totally on trend right now and I think this particular one will go well with athleisure style or dressed up with jeans and booties.
- Long-Line Moto Jacket :: This was another item that I skipped over until I saw another blogger in it. It looks like it would be overwhelming for a petite frame but it actually hangs beautifully! I love the extra length on it and I’m hoping with it being knit, it will be the perfect jacket for Houston “winter” since you know, down fleece isn’t really necessary.
- Sam Edelman Tall Boots :: I truly wasn’t planning on a boot purchase this year but then I realized I didn’t get a pair last year. #girlmath I personally love the richness of the golden caramel color as I think it will go with most everything. And the stacked heel is my jam. I have high hopes for these and at $150, I’m willing to invest in a long-lasting, classic boot.
- Zella Work Out Hoodie :: Clearly hoodies are my fall staple, so of course I just had to get one for working out, right? I love the Zella brand for their durability and comfort. For something I wear on a semi-regular basis, I think this is a great price point. Check out all of the Zella athletic gear here {their work out leggings are the bomb!}
Bonus Picks :: So, clearly above I focused on “mom stuff” but ladies, there are TONS to be had for your kiddos and husbands as well. I snagged these Native Mary Janes for my little girl and these spiffy boots for my son. And not to leave out my darling better half, he also scored his favorite Nike Dry Fit work out shorts. #yourewelcomehoney
