About the Account Executive:The Account Executive is a contract, commission‑based role responsible for securing and managing new business for sponsored guides, local resources, and community partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and solicit new advertising partners from local businesses that serve or attract moms in the Houston area
- Help develop sponsored campaigns that meet the needs and interests of Houston Moms readers
- Set weekly outreach goals, including businesses to contact and the number of touchpoints to complete
- Source quarterly and annual partnerships
- Collaborate with owners to develop a year‑round strategy for sponsored guides—both new opportunities and renewals
- Build supportive, ongoing relationships with sponsors
- Manage all sponsored guide logistics
- Build sponsored guides in WordPress as needed
- Complete additional projects as needed
- Respond to emails promptly (ideally within 24 hours, always within 48 hours). Must have daytime availability.
- Must be able to meet via Zoom monthly for Executive Team Meeting, as well as one additional Zoom meeting with the Ownership Team.
- Maintain consistent communication with owners regarding project status
- Represent Houston Moms in a positive, professional manner at all times
Skills Needed
- Excellent writing and strong communication skills
- Strong project management abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Sales experience, preferably in digital marketing
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments
- Tenacity and resilience
- A collaborative spirit and ability to build rapport quickly with prospects and clients
- Ownership mindset and pride in your work
- Flexible schedule, with availability during daytime hours for calls and meetings
- Preference given to candidates who can commit to at least one year in the role
- Passion for Houston businesses and Houston‑area moms
- Experience with WordPress, basic HTML, Visual Composer, and social media platforms (training available for the right candidate)
