And let’s be honest, you’ll probably want to pick up a few cute new things for yourself too. If you are looking to save money and find a one stop shop for the whole family, consider checking out Memorial Assistance Ministries (MAM)! You’ll be sure to find great deals for everyone in the family, including brand names and even new with tags items at a fraction of the regular price. Plus, when you shop at MAM, you’re also helping your fellow Houstonians work toward long-term financial stability and realize their full potential!

What You Can Expect

MAM has two resale shops in the Houston area including its flagship store in the heart of Spring Branch at 1625 Blalock Road and a smaller, recently opened boutique store in the Heights, located at 1015 E. 11th Street.

The Heights store is a boutique experience with a curated range of clothing, shoes, accessories, small housewares, and an array of pop culture items, including vinyl records! Name brand and designer pieces are beautifully showcased at this location. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm, and Saturday 10am-5pm.

The store on Blalock is a 14,000 square foot shopping paradise that receives daily arrivals of clothing, home furnishings, electronics, home goods, toys, books, and more. At the back of the store is their MAM Resale Boutique which carries high-end clothing, authenticated designer handbags, shoes, and accessories. You’ll find new items with intact original tags that are available at just a fraction of retail prices! The Blalock store is open Monday through Friday 10am-6pm, and Saturday from 10am-5pm and the boutique hours are Monday through Saturday 10am-4:30pm.

These shops are not your typical resale shops. They are organized, clean, and well lit. You won’t need to dig around in endless bins to find what you’re looking for. You may not even remember you’re in a resale shop!

Throughout the year, MAM hosts special shopping events, providing discounts on select groups of merchandise. Quarterly half-off sales, after-hours themed events, and daily specials make every shopping trip a new adventure full of great deals. They even sell sports memorabilia- including Astros gear!

Donate and Shop for a Great Cause!

If you’re looking to clear out your closets for a good cause, both locations are now accepting donations! The Blalock store accepts donations Tuesday through Saturday 10am-4pm and the Heights store Thursday through Saturday 10am-3pm. Furniture donations can be picked up by MAM’s team by appointment. Bethany, the daughter of an army chaplain and a special education teacher, grew up moving every 2-3 years. She considers herself an introvert who had to learn how to make friends quickly! She met her Houstonian husband, Paul, in college and they married in 2004. They first settled just north of Houston, where she earned her master's degree at Sam Houston State in School Psychology. After working in public education for a couple of years, she decided to stay home full time with their children, Charlie {2008}, Norah {2010}, and Will {2013}. The family moved to Katy in 2012, where they’ve been ever since. She loves decorating and even had her own small business for a while.
