Designed to make complex medical topics accessible and engaging, the exhibit explores everything from cutting-edge therapies to the incredible advancements happening right here in Houston’s world-renowned medical community. It’s the kind of exhibit that sparks important conversations while still keeping kids engaged through interactive experiences.

Summer Programs for All Ages

Running throughout the summer, these camps cover a wide range of topics including veterinary science, engineering, robotics, chemistry, culinary science, and even simulated surgeries. Kids can build skeleton models, experiment with circuits, perform safe dissections, and explore how the human body works in ways that feel exciting instead of intimidating.

The camp themes are especially fun because they allow kids to lean into their interests. Young animal lovers can explore veterinary medicine in Junior Vet camp, aspiring inventors can tackle engineering challenges in InnovateX, and future detectives can solve mysteries in Camp CSI. There’s even a “Grossed Out Science” camp for kids who delight in learning all the weird and fascinating facts about the human body.

Older students interested in healthcare careers can also participate in the museum’s Global Teen Medical Summit, a week-long immersive program where teens connect with medical professionals and explore real-world health and bioscience challenges. In a city known for the Texas Medical Center, it’s an incredible opportunity for Houston teens to get inspired about future careers in medicine and science.

Doc Dissection at The Health MuseumFamilies visiting the museum this summer can also experience the museum’s popular Doc Dissections, where guests get an educational, age-appropriate look at anatomy and biological science through guided dissections. These programs continue to be a favorite among older kids and teens who enjoy hands-on science learning.

And if you’re searching for a summer field trip idea for camps, homeschool groups, or neighborhood meetups, The Health Museum makes group visits easy. Visitors can explore permanent exhibits like the Amazing Body Gallery, interactive puzzles, and special rotating exhibits that encourage problem-solving and curiosity.

Houston parents are always looking for ways to balance summer fun with meaningful experiences, and The Health Museum checks both boxes. It’s interactive without feeling overwhelming, educational without feeling boring, and engaging for a surprisingly wide range of ages.

In a summer filled with screens and packed schedules, there’s something refreshing about watching kids get genuinely excited about science, health, and discovery. At The Health Museum, that curiosity comes to life every single day.
