The Moment You Choose You: A Midlife Rebirth Begins

We are thankful to Reignite Collective for helping women around Houston rediscover their spark.

As a mom in her {ahem} mid-40’s, I have devoted the better part of the last 17 years either trying to be a mom or actively being a mom. And as much as I love it {like, really, REALLY LOVE} being a mom, there are times where I lay in bed and wonder where I have gone. Like the intrinsic part of me. The one with the bold ideas. The one who giggles to herself when no one is even around. The one who feels light and unburdened and so much like…herself.

Not the woman who sometimes feels invisible with crushing decision fatigue. Almost two decades of parenting and marriage can catch up with a girl, and well, there are days when I wonder where she is. I see glimpses for sure. The belly laughs over dinners with girlfriends who made it out of the group chat. The stolen weekends away with my husband that feel so precious. And even with my teenagers, and I see them look at me almost with wonder – like, she’s not just “Mom.” She’s Meagan. She matters. She has purpose, and worth, and she’s worth investing in.

I just wish I saw her more often.

Heather Theisen-Gándara, EdD, wants to help those in mid-life invest in yourself on a VIP level. Her why? Because she’s been there. She understands and she has done the hard work of re-igniting what sets her on fire. Just one week after her youngest left for college, Heather’s 24‑year marriage unexpectedly ended. The wave of anxiety, guilt, and disorientation that followed was immediate and overwhelming. Drawing on the resilience she developed in a difficult childhood, she spent the next two years rebuilding her life from the ground up. She regained her financial independence, transformed her health through strength training and balanced nutrition, and ultimately lost nearly 100 pounds.

This profound transformation became the catalyst for her mission: helping other women reclaim their power, release fear, and step into a future defined by confidence, clarity, and holistic well‑being.

Heather realized that guiding women through healing, reinvention, and self‑trust was not just meaningful work — it was her calling.

Today, through group and individual coaching, community support, and soon‑to‑launch global retreats, she serves as a thinking partner and guide for women ready to reignite their purpose and design the next chapter of their lives with intention and strength.

If you are missing that spark, or wondering where you have disappeared to, first, you are not alone. And if you are ready to dig deep and rediscover all the beautiful pieces that make you YOU, then Reignite Collective is here to help you on your journey. There are a handful of tools they have, just waiting for your simple yes.

Meagan Clanahan
Meagan is a Dallas native who has lived in the Katy area for almost two decades. She kicked a soccer ball all the way to Louisiana to attend college at her family’s alma mater of LSU, where she promptly fell in love with a Texas Aggie in Baton Rouge for an internship. After swimming back to Texas following Hurricane Katrina, Matt and Meagan fell in love with the Houston area and now couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. Following several years of infertility, their miracle twins Ryan and Quinn were born in June of 2010. She believes there is nothing better than a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio, a large Sonic Diet Coke, sushi take-out, Girls Nights Out, and a mindless book to curl up with. Besides playing chauffeur and catering to the whims of her children, Meagan also is the Co-Owner of Houston Moms. You can keep up with Meagan on Instagram, @meaghtx!
