10 Family Friendly Experiences to Have in Houston This Year

New year, new adventures! While we love reflecting on the past, we’re even more excited about exciting adventures waiting just around the corner! Here are 10 family-friendly experiences in Houston that deserve a spot on your 2026 itinerary.

  1. Explore the incredible art and green spaces at the Menil Collection, where admission is always free!
  2. Visit the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, one of the largest art museums in the U.S. Kids 12 and younger are always free!
  3. Head over to the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center for a habitat hike. The Eastern Glades and Kinder Land Bridge at nearby Memorial Park also offer an amazing view.
  4. Tour Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, a former drinking reservoir for the city of Houston. Sound healing meditation sessions are also available.
  5. Get lost in Houston’s maze of Downtown Tunnels, which span more than 6 miles in length underground.
