10 Family Friendly Experiences to Have in Houston This Year

One of the best things about wrapping up the end of a year is the anticipation of looking forward to what’s next to come. We’ve pulled together a list of 10 experiences in Houston that we think all families should have this year. Happy 2023!

  1. Visit Houston Graffiti Park at the corner of Leeland and Emanuel to see some incredible street art! After snapping all the selfies, head over to 8th Wonder for some local brews!

  2. Pop by the famous Beer Can House for a photo opp.
  3. Check out the {always} free to visit Menil Collection.
  4. Lace up those walking shoes and head over to the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. Their Habitat Hikes are so much fun! If you aren’t too tired afterward, the Eastern Glades at nearby Memorial Park also offer an amazing view.Houston Arboretum
  5. Take a tour of the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern, a former drinking reservoir built in 1926 for the city of Houston. After being decommissioned in 2007, Buffalo Bayou Park restored and repurposed it, and it is now open for tours {and sound healing meditation sessions!}
  6. Get lost in the maze of Houston’s Downtown Tunnels, which span more than 6 miles long. The perfect weekday activity on a hot and humid day!Statue at entrance of Hermann Park
  7. Spend an entire day at Hermann Park. Covering over 445 acres, there’s an activity here for everyone!

  8. Catch a baseball game at Minute Maid Park!
  9. Admire the light sequence at The Twilight Epiphany Skyspace located on the Rice University campus at either sunrise or sunset.
  10. Head out to George Observatory for a truly phenomenal stargazing experience!
