35 At Home Summer Activities for Kids

Summer is in full swing, and that means the kids will be home… all. the. time. Extended days together are great, but they also mean you’ll have lots of pockets of time to fill. Not sure what to do during all those long, lazy days? We have some ideas for at home summer activities for kids!

  1. Make a fairy house
  2. Throw a backyard movie night
  3. Make your own popsicles
  4. Make a bird feeder
  5. Make slime
  6. Cool off with a sponge water bomb fight
  7. Start an indoor herb garden that you can transport outside later on
  8. Complete the summer reading challenge at your local library
  9. Practice and perfect a recipe of your choice
  10. Challenge yourself to makeover a room in your house without spending any money
  11. Learn a new language using Duolingo or Beelinguapp
  12. Create a time capsule and tuck it away in a safe place
  13. Throw a themed “decade day”—1990s or 2000s would be really fun!
  14. Host a sleepover with a few close friends
  15. Call someone on the phone that you haven’t talked to in awhile
  16. Teach your pet a new trick
  17. Have an “anything but screens” day
  18. Build a fort in your living room or playroom
  19. Paint summer-themed rocks
