Never underestimate the power of bedtime stories. Reading before bed has so many benefits including improving sleep quality, promoting longer sleep duration, and increasing vocabulary. This year, our family has really enjoyed bringing back the art of the bedtime book.

Our boys are getting older now, but they still enjoy some quiet screen-free relaxation time with mom and dad. A plus is that they really seem to enjoy and understand the importance of having a wind-down routine at the end of the day. As we move through our picks from the library, I want to share a few of our favorite bedtime stories. Some of these have been around for many years and others are new to us.
Goodnight Moon
Sleep Book
The Going to Bed Book

On the Night You Were Born
LLama Llama Red Pajama
If Animals Kissed Good Night

The Bedtime Bear

Goodnight, Mice
Sleep Like a Tiger
Goodnight Gorilla

It’s never too late to make bedtime reading a habit with your kids. There really is something so sweet and tender about sharing even 20 minutes reading and dreaming together. The bed time routine can be something the whole family can cherish.
Sweet Dreams and Happy Reading
