Taking a break from my typical kid-dedicated posts to focus on something that, to be perfectly honest, I should spend some more time on…shopping! When I’m not at work or toting the toddler around town, I like to wander into cosmetic stores and department stores and check out their nail polish selections and lipsticks. I hardly ever buy anything for myself, but I recently went on a mini-excursion to these places and bought myself some perfect summer goodies that I just had to share with you all!
1. I typically change my polish shade weekly {if I’m lucky I can squeeze in a gel/shellac mani}, and this week I’m currently featuring Essie’s Bachelorette Bash
– it is a very summery pink color with a hint of shimmer. It goes on much lighter than the shade shown in the pic below, and I used three coats.
2. Another one of my go-to favorite shades of polish is OPI’s A Grape Fit. It is a very light and fun shade of purple, and it happens to be my favorite color of all time! I tend to use this color from February through September/October. It is the perfect summer shade for your fingers and toes!

I just want to get something straight – I am not adventurous when it comes to lipstick. Nailpolish? Yes. But lipstick? No. Absolutely not. However, I just went to Sephora and bought a bright pink hue that I think I’m in love with- it is called Endless Pink and is really pretty on! The feel of the stain is nice too – it isn’t cakey at all and lasts almost all day!
4 & 5. These are my top lipstick shades that I wear all the time :: Revlon’s ColorStay Ultimate Suede in 050 Couture – a reddish pink shade that lasts for around 4 hours per wear. It goes on like a lipstick but feels like a stain when set. And also Revlon’s ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in 025 Premiere Plum. This is my go-to shade, and I wear it almost daily. It is a true lipstain and lasts around 8 hours. It is similar to the Sephora shade I described above, but I think it might last a little bit longer.
