July brings Independence Day cookouts, lazy days by the pool, and the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Whether or not you are a big shopper, there are opportunities to buy the clothes, home goods, shoes, and outwear you need while also saving money. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is unique because you have an opportunity to buy new items on sale instead of shopping only end of season discounts. Does anyone else think it’s weird when sweaters are on sale in March?
I love the Anniversary Sale because I can purchase staple closet items like coats and boots for myself and my kids, but I also feel some freedom in stepping out of my comfort zone and purchasing trendier items at a lower cost. Given Nordstrom’s generous shipping and return policy if the new clogs I bought don’t work out I can send them right back. I also can purchase gifts and get a head start on holiday shopping. There are incredible deals, but to shop the Anniversary Sale you need a game plan given how big this sale is.
Tips for Shopping Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
Determine when you can shop.
If you are a Nordstrom card holder you have early access to the sale. If you aren’t, but have shopped at Nordstrom before, you likely still have early access. The sale is open to the public on July 15. You can find out when you have access to the sale here.
Make a list of items you are looking for
When it comes to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale I think making a list is the best course of option given how vast the sale is. Take stock of what you need – a new coat for the winter? Home goods? Baby items? Are you going to stock up on some Christmas gifts? Knowing what you are looking for will help narrow down your search and save you money!
Use your list and search the preview
Nordstrom already has all the items that will be on discount during their anniversary sale posted on their web site. Using the list you already created, search the specific categories (i.e. Girls outerwear).
Add items to your wish list
Items sell out very quickly, but if you have the specific items you are interested in saved to your wish list you can easily add them to your cart when you have access to the sale.
Don’t worry about making one large order
If you see an item is low in stock, then add that item to your cart and buy immediately. Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns so you don’t need to worry about racking up the shipping charges. There are sometimes restocks that happen during the sale, so if something is sold out, check back later.
Top Sale Picks
Below are my top sale picks, but you really should make your list and go browse yourself!
Baby Items
I wasn’t aware Nordstrom carried baby items, but they do! Admittedly, I’m out of the baby stage and am not current on what the “hot ticket” baby items are, but these seemed like good deals.
Radian 3 RXT Three Across All-In-One Convertible Car Seat & Bonus Pack
This car seat grows with your child from newborn to 10 years old! It usually runs $499, but during the sale you can get it for $299.
This stroller has wonderful reviews and usually runs for $349. During the sale, it will be $224.
Pack n Plays were invaluable when my children were young. Sometimes, I still wish I could put them in one. In any case, this bugaboo playard has wonderful reviews and would be a great buy!
Gift Items
Voluspa Maison Set of Four Petite Candles
Voluspa candles are always a great gift, and this set is even better because you don’t have to worry if the recipient will enjoy the scent you picked out since there are four to choose from! This set usually sells for $60, but during the sale it will be $39.99. Another idea is the break up the set and use each individual candle as a hostess gift.
CozyChic Barefoot Dreams Throw Blanket
These throw blankets are the softest, coziest blankets you will ever wrap up in and make great gifts for just about anyone – grandparents, friends, teenagers!
Aura Carver Luxe Digital Photo Frame
We gave our mother’s this digital frame for Mother’s Day. They are wonderful and fun gifts for grandparents as you can upload photos directly to their frame and surprise them with new photos of the grandkids.
Beauty
Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum Set
This serum is highly touted by beauty bloggers and you can get this set, which is a $209 value, for $110.
Revitalash Eyelash Conditioner
I have friends who swear their eyelashes look longer and healthier when using Revitalash. I’ve never purchased, but given this is $196 value for $98 I’m going to buy this year!
I love this blush and so many of my friends with different skin tones love it, too!
Shoes
Franco Sarto Devin Pointed Toe Sling-back Pump
This is a classic black shoe that can be worn in the office or at an evening event. The low-heel also makes it foot friendly!
Steve Madden Fleur Pointed Toe Mule
This is a great fall shoe that you can wear with jeans, dresses, and skirts. I’m going to reach for these instead of my trusted white tennis shoes when I want to elevate my look a little.
Bernardo Sky Genuine Shearling Lined Mule
These are my fun “trendy” shoe pick. Clogs are back in and these will keep your feet warm and cozy during the winter.
Clothing
If you don’t have these in your closet, get them! They are a fun way to dress up and you won’t find a better price on them.
Paige Cindy High Waist Straight Jeans
These are my go-to jeans. I love them. I just wish I had purchased them during the Anniversary Sale so I could have saved $80 on them!
Sam Edelman Water Repellent Double Face Cotton Blend Trench Coat
This coat is a classic. You can throw it over jeans and tennis shoes and instantly look chic. This is also a good choice for our Houston winters as it’s not too heavy.
I could keep giving you suggestions – the Zella live-in leggings are a favorite and I think a faux leather moto jacket is a fun way for moms to add some edge to their wardrobe – but you should go browse the sale for yourself using our tips! Happy shopping!
I loved reading this! I bought a hat and several tops during the Anniversary Sale. But now I want to go back to see several item you featured.
I guess our Austin store at Barton Creek doesn’t have room for home goods?)
