Here at Houston Moms Blog, we love working alongside other inspirational mamas who are striving to make our amazing city an even better place to call home. And today, we are so thrilled to be introducing you to one of them. Amaris Wendelburg is a local realtor and fellow mom who somehow manages to do it all – she knows the inside scoop on all of Houston’s housing trends, she is a loving wife and doting mom, and she can make you laugh and smile within the first five minutes of saying hello.
And recently, I had the pleasure of laughing and smiling with her as we sat down to talk about all things mom, all things Houston, and how she got to where she is today.
Tell us a little bit about Amaris the wife and mom ::
I met my husband when I was 18, and I knew he was the one from the start. But we were young, and we had college and career aspirations in mind, so we took it slow and stayed together all throughout college and his postgraduate degree. After seven years of dating, we were finally ready to take the next step though, and I proudly said yes when he asked me to be his wife. Together, we continued to establish our careers {he in business and me in real estate}…until one day, we decided we were ready to establish a family too. This past October, we warmly welcomed a precious baby girl into our world. And now that I am a mom, I love spending as much time as I possibly can with her. We go to the park, we meet up with friends for play dates, and we just enjoy every moment of mommy-daughter time spent together. It is so much fun to watch her grow, and I love seeing the city through her eyes.
Tell us a little bit about Amaris the realtor ::
Originally, I had sought out to become a physical therapist…I even got my bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. But shortly after that, the course of my life took change – and I decided to get my real estate license instead. And I am so happy that I did! I love real estate and all that comes with it. So much, in fact, that I was even working on a contract in the delivery room when I was having my baby girl!
I am proud to service all of the greater Houston area – from The Woodlands to Galveston, and everywhere in between. I am passionate about helping my clients buy and sell their homes, and I strive to make it an easy and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. I recognize that buying and selling a home is a very emotional process, so my goal is to treat every transaction as if it were my own.
What is your favorite thing about the Houston market ::
I love how diverse it is! There are so many different types and styles of homes in the greater Houston area – from homes built in the 1920’s to brand new construction being built today. Each home I work with has a character all its own. And speaking of character, you can find some really crazy houses around our city too…like the beer can house! There is practically nowhere else that you can plaster beer cans all over your home and call it art. Houston just has such a unique market, and I love being able to share that with all of my clients and everyone I meet.
What is the most challenging thing ::
Dealing with the traffic. I think most Houstonians would agree!
How do you juggle the demands that come with being a mom and a realtor ::
I am so incredibly thankful to have both my mom and my mother-in-law nearby. They are so sweet and willing to take over baby duties at the drop of a hat. And my husband is also super supportive too. He is always there to lend a hand when I need to show a house or meet with a client on the weekend. It is definitely a juggling act…but so rewarding in the end.
Describe yourself in three words ::
Dedicated, Giving, Compassionate
Is there anything else you would like the moms of Houston to know ::
Yes…I want moms who are looking to relocate {whether they are moving across the country or from just across the street} to know what a wonderful place Houston is to raise a family. The entire city is full of family-friendly activities, and there is never a lack of something to do. Yes, it is a big city…and I know that can be intimidating to some. But along with the large size comes so many amazing experiences and opportunities that will leave lasting memories for you and your family for years to come. I would love to help you find your perfect home among it all and explore all that there is to do, so please feel free to contact me today!
