Aging is weird, our bodies are strange, and life tends to affect what our bodies do and how they perform in very odd ways. For me this presented as persistent aches in my limbs that would not go away no matter how much I stretched and underarms that no deodorant could contain. After sharing this with my dad, for my birthday, he gave me a series of infrared sauna sessions and a massage with his medical massage therapist and aesthetician Rita at De Premier Spa here in Houston.

Before my first session began, Rita spent time to ask about my health history, the symptoms I’d been experiencing, and what I’d tried. After our first infrared sauna and massage I immediately purchased a 12 massage packaged because she was absolutely unlike any other massage therapist I’d seen.

Through our 12 weeks of treatments she spent time before each sessions to check in with me on any changes and give me direction on things I could do at home. I felt like I finally had a partner to help solve all these weird issues I’d been experiencing. Through massage Rita noticed that my lymph nodes were clogged, especially in my legs and arms, the same areas where I’d been feeling achey. Through the infrared sauna sessions we opened up my sweat glands and the underarm issue is a thing of the past.

I still see Rita regularly for lymphatic massage and my body feels incredibly better than it did at that first session. Some days I walk in and it’s been a hard week and she says, “what if we do a relaxing massage today instead, it sounds like you need it”, and instead of a lymphatic massage with cupping she does a more relaxing massage with hot stones. Rita has also seen my daughter for skin issues and random aches and pains from her swim training.

Rita is a wholistic medical massage therapist and aesthetician and she really considers the whole body when she treats her clients. I am so thankful for my dad’s birthday gift and that Rita is part of my family’s life to help us get through all the weird things our bodies throw at us.

About De Premier Spa

Motherhood places constant demands on the body—from physical strain and stress to hormonal changes and disrupted sleep. Over time, this can lead to tension, fatigue, discomfort, and changes in skin health that are often accepted as “normal,” even when they don’t have to be.

At De Premier Spa, this cycle is approached differently. Founded by Rita Olufowoshe, a licensed medical massage provider and holistic aesthetic practitioner, the spa is rooted in the belief that the body functions as one connected system — and that real healing happens when care is personalized, consistent, and intentional.

With advanced training in therapeutic bodywork, medical massage, skincare, and integrative wellness across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, Rita brings a global and deeply informed perspective to health. Her work is guided by listening, not just to clients’ goals, but to the subtle signals of the body itself. This philosophy shapes every experience at De Premier Spa.

Whole-Body Care for Real Life

Rather than focusing on isolated treatments, De Premier Spa supports whole-body health through customized care plans that evolve as your needs change. Every visit begins with a thoughtful consultation that considers posture, stress patterns, lifestyle demands, and long-term wellness goal; an approach especially beneficial for moms balancing physical strain, emotional load, and limited time.

Stress is never treated as “just stress.” De Premier’s integrative therapies are designed to calm the nervous system, support hormonal balance, improve circulation, and help the body recover more efficiently, leading to better sleep, improved energy, and a greater sense of resilience in everyday life.

Skincare, too, is viewed through a whole-health lens. Rather than quick fixes, treatments are customized to restore healthy skin function and address concerns often influenced by stress, hormones, and environmental factors. As the body finds balance, the skin reflects that healing.

Wellness That Builds Over Time

Rita’s approach emphasizes consistency over convenience. Many clients benefit from service series and integrated care plans that support lasting progress rather than temporary relief. This allows moms to create a sustainable rhythm of care — one that fits into real life and delivers results that extend beyond the treatment room.

Whether you’re navigating early motherhood, managing chronic tension, or simply seeking to feel stronger and more supported in your body, De Premier Spa meets you where you are — and helps guide where you’re going.
