Lindsey Benson
Raised in Fort Worth, Texas, I attended Auburn University and later married my high school sweetheart, Charlie. I always thought we’d raise our family back in Fort Worth, but life had other plans—Charlie’s job brought us to Houston in 2012. With a toddler, a baby, and not knowing anyone, I dove headfirst into exploring everything Houston had to offer for kids: museums, parks, and (mostly free) entertainment. In 2015, we had our 3rd baby and moved to Katy when our oldest started kindergarten, and it quickly began to feel like home. We've loved building our community here—one school event, neighborhood gathering, and new friendship at a time. Today, we’re raising our three kids—a 15-year-old son and two daughters, ages 13 and 10—and still discovering new things to love about this area every day. I’m a connector by nature and an Enneagram 7—always looking forward to the next fun event on my calendar. Whether it’s planning a get-together, finding a new local spot, or helping others feel connected, I’m all about bringing people together and making the most of each day.

  1. This is such a great and comprehensive list! I’ve lived in Houston and Katy for almost 15 years and hadn’t heard of several of these so I’m excited to try new spots with our kids!! Thank you!

  2. Westside/ Memorial just outside the beltway- Memorial Drive United Methodist Church does a big pumpkin patch every year. This year it starts today, Sept 27. Details and hours are on the church’s website.
